Campground Guidelines

How to camp safely with us.

Wilpena Pound Resort Guidelines

Ensuring the safety of our guests is our utmost priority, and we will be taking all necessary precautions going forward. To that end we will be reopening in stages over the coming months, limiting the number of rooms and glamping tents available. We want you to enjoy your stay with us, and we ask that you review the following changes before your stay.

Make Your Booking In Advance

We have some great packages available, however to avoid disappointment, please book and pay for your stay in advance via our website.

Due to the reduction in the number of rooms available, we can not guarantee you will be able to stay with us unless you have a confirmed booking on arrival.

As we are operating with a reduced team, we ask that you booking via our website. If you call or email us please be patient as we may not be able to immediately respond to all enquiries.

Dining Options

Please note that for the time being, our restaurant is open 7 days for breakfast and dinner. We are not open for lunch.

Reservations are strongly recommended for dinner as we need to adhere to State social distancing guidelines.

Our on-site IGA Xpress general store and cafe is open daily between 8pm and 6pm, where breakfast and lunch items can be purchased.

Welcome to Country

Unfortunately due to social distancing and social gathering regulations, we are unable to undertake our nightly Welcome to Country at this time.

For now, please take a look at the Yura cultural information the Ikara Wilpena app which is free to download from the App Store and Google Play stores.

You can also learn about our history, culture and traditions by joining one of our Aboriginal Cultural Tours during your stay.

Cultural Tours

Our Aboriginal Cultural Tours are operating to a reduced schedule. Places are limited so we recommend that you book in advance via our website.

Scenic Flights

Scenic flights over Wilpena Pound, the Flinders Ranges and Lake Eyre are operating daily. Seats are limited so we recommend that you book in advance via our website.

Communal Areas

Use of communal areas are restricted to only one person per 4 square metres (e.g. BBQ's, public restrooms).

After use of a communal area, all surfaces should be appropriately cleaned, and all refuse and personal items removed.

Communal BBQ's will now require a booking. Please see our team at the Visitor Information Centre.

We are doing everything possible to manage our campground in a safe way.

We require all guests to lodge a Health Declaration with us before check-in. Without this you will not be able to stay with us. It will save time if you complete this declaration online before arrival. (Must be within 14 days of arrival)
